Milk has arrived at Tracey's 12:00PM June 20th

Eating directly from the haystack is best!

The cows settled in nicely. We had to hand milk for a little over a week until the milking machine arrived. It took two hours to milk by hand. With the machine, the time was cut in half. I'm sure the cows are relieved.

The cows are from an organic dairy in Emmett, Idaho which is pasture based and feeds no grain. Maggie and Ina are Brown Swiss/Holstein crosses and Springs Belle and Frosty are Holsteins. They all test high for butterfat. They will be perfect cows to get started with.

The results of our first milk test shows the cows to be very healthy. The scores were over 50 times lower than the acceptable levels stated in our standards.
