| Over the winter (2006) we managed to get the milk room
inclosed and were using it to pack the coolers for the Carbondale run which Cindy's Dad did until spring.
I took over for the next couple of months. Then Matt Stone showed up. He volunteered to work one day a week
and take the run in trade for product. He was our first intern. We would not have made it through 2007 with out
him. The big project this year was putting up the coverall barn. My son, Wiley, organized a voluteer crew to
set the posts
and erect the arches.
Then we had an old fashion barn raising get together where 20 or so shareholders helped us
pull the cover
over the arches. We had a noon meal, good conversation, a lot of
hard work and in short order a barn
for the cows and hay. Our shareholder have always been very supportive of us, but this really proved it. We are very greatful for all their help! The cows appreciate it too. By fall
we had enough shareholders that we were short of milk. In October we purchased 5 more cows from
the Idaho dairy again. Matt and Wiley made the 14 hour one way, two day trip. Matt had to leave us then and I
took over the carbondale run again. With this last addition of cows and the coverall up, we settled in for the
winter.
